From an early age, Josh found inspiration in the great outdoors. "My dad took me out into the local hills a lot when I was a kid. I really enjoy being in the mountains," he recalls. His passion for the sport was driven purely by enjoyment, and along the way, numerous athletes and experiences inspired him to pursue trail running at the highest level.

Achievements and Challenges

With multiple victories at Ultra Trail Snowdonia and an 11th-place finish at UTMB, Josh has demonstrated remarkable endurance and skill in some of the world's most challenging races. However, his journey has not been without obstacles. "I have failed many times and learned from those failures to progress," he shares, emphasizing his commitment to continuous improvement and resilience.

Training and Motivation

For this accomplished athlete, training is more than just preparation – it's a way of life. "I just love training, so if I feel like I have done everything I can to prepare, then I feel physically and mentally strong." This mindset has helped him tackle the rigorous demands of ultra-distance trail running and stay competitive on the global stage.

Beyond running, he has a deep appreciation for mountaineering, further solidifying his connection to the rugged landscapes that fuel his passion.

With his sights set on competing at UTMB multiple times, as well as legendary races such as Hardrock 100 and Grand Raid, Josh continues to push his limits and strive for excellence.
